For years my favorite flower has been the Ranunculus. To me it looks like a mix between a rose and a poppy. If you provide them with the proper care, trimming the stem an 1/8 in. every 2 days under water, they will last you over a week. I purchase mine at the wholesale flower market in downtown LA for $3.50 a bundle, but almost all local Trader Joe's and Whole Foods Markets carry them in an array of colors for around $7. First I clip off all of the leaves and bare stems, and then I pair them with an old Ball mason jar. I chose to place the arrangement against the pink tile in my bathroom for contrast. Put them all over the house (or apartment) throughout spring and summer, and watch them open up! Trés fab!
